I hope you all are enjoying a taste of
Spring! I am attempting to become a morning runner. My
neighbor & MRR member, Amy Kakacek has been trying to get me out
of bed every morning for a 5:45 a.m. adventure. I donıt know why
I struggle with this so much. There are so many of you in the
club that do this religiously. I do know that I feel great the
rest of the day when I drag myself out of bed and do it. Does
anyone have any tips for me?
As you recall, I listed 7 goals for this
year. These were the first three:
1) Putting on an amazing Spring Thaw Race
along with co-race director & former MRR prez, Chris Poeckes.
2) Hosting a successful Diva Fitness Night
at Peak Performance on March 18th
3) Finishing the Lincoln Marathon in May
I feel pretty good about the progress thus
far by accomplishing the first 2! Next on the list is the
Lincoln Marathon. I leave today as I type this message. I am so
thankful of how I worded my goal - ³finishing² the marathon. The
training has gone fairly well with a strong 21 1Z4 mile long run
2 weeks ago. The bad news is that it has been serious taper
since that moment I mean too serious of a taper! I am going to
tell myself that this will be a piece of cake as I donıt have to
swim 2.4 miles and bike 112 before the run! It will definitely
be an extremely mental game for me! I am up for it! I hope
everyone continues to set goals and work towards them. May your
spring and summer be filled with motivation, dedication, fun,
friendship & accomplishments!
Keep runninı
